Cmde.  Coffey called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM by noting a quorum of the B of D was present.

COMMODORES ’S REPORT:

Cmde. Coffey opened discussion on the issue of  censoring Capt. Kowsari.  He reviewed with the B of Ds the history and actions of the previous Board relating to the approved censor action involving Capt. Kowsari and his family.

Cmde Coffey then related the contacts he personally made with P/C Burgess and P/C Wright  both of whom attended the meeting. He also related to the Board the letters received from P/C Kinser and Capt. J. Pappas.  P/C Burgess reviewed with the Board Capt. Kowsari's manners at the club several years ago which caused  a letter of  censure to be sent to Capt. Kowsari making him aware of the club By-Laws.  P/C Wright reiterated his observations of the actions of Capt. Kowsari's family the night of the dinner function.

After general discussion by the Board a motion was unanimously passed to proceed with the censor process  as initiated by the previous Board.  However, prior to formally setting a date for a special meeting of the general membership; Cmde. Coffey was directed to write a letter and possibly meet with Capt. Kowsari to educate him to the censor procedure which will be followed.

There being no additional new business Cmde. Coffey  announced the next  meeting of the Board of Directors will be held on April 11, 2002 starting at 7:00 PM at the Community Development Services Offices in the Parade Office Mall, Suite #40, (Upper level) 195 Hanover Street, Portsmouth, NH.
